We grew out of a simple idea:

Every project should reflect its owner’s vision, as faithfully as possible.

That belief first took shape when our founders, Hastings and Anne Read, renovated their historic home in Mobile, Alabama. Their desire to build it a certain way, with details true to its character, sparked their passion for woodworking and laid the foundation for Oakleigh Custom Woodworks.

Our Story

Since founding the company in 2008, we’ve held ourselves to the same uncompromising levels of care, precision, and detail.

But it’s the talented team we’ve built that truly defines Oakleigh. Every craftsman here shares the same dedication to excellence, and together we’ve grown from a small workshop to a trusted partner for architects, contractors, and homeowners across the country.

Today, our work can be seen nationwide—from New York City townhouses and Hamptons vacation homes to historic churches and civic buildings.
